St Mary's Food Bank Drive

Wednesday September 30th, We have a combined activity with the YW. We will meet at the CVS at Tatum & Dynamite @ 6:30. We will then split up into two groups and go on a scavenger hunt for the St. Mary's Food Bank. At 8:00 we will meet back at the Hancock's home to count the "booty" and award prices on various aspects of the hunt.
Be on the lookout for the following:
Canned Tuna, Salmon, Chicken and Ham
Canned Soups, Stews and Chili
Canned Fruits and Vegetables
Canned or Packaged Beans
Pasta, Macaroni and Cheese
Rice
Peanut Butter
Juice in cans or plastic containers

D'Backs Night

Take me out to the Ball Game... Or is it Who's on First...
The Pinnacle Peak Young Men will be attending the September 23 D'Backs game at Chase field. We will be meeting at CVS, Tatum and Dynamite @ 6:15 to head to the game. Our plan is to stay through the 7th Inning Stretch or the full game depending on how long the game is running. This should be a fun outting for all.

Notes from Bishop Cannon:

• Have a great Labor Day weekend!
• Thanks for your service last Wednesday.
• Our ward meeting times will change starting on 9/20/09. Our sacrament meeting will start at 10:00 am. We will go to church from 10:00 to 1:00 the rest of 2009. Then starting on 1/3/10 we will move to the 8:00 block. That's right 8:00 am. It may seem early, but then church will be over at 11:00.
• Sister Blasnek needs all the young men to help right after sacrament meeting each Sunday. She teaches Sunday school in the overflow section of the chapel. We need to help her fold up all of the chairs except 11 of them and move a long table from the cultural hall in for her class.
• After 9/20 we won't be the last ward in the building, so we won't need to fold up all the chairs. We should put the chairs back up in the chapel overflow after our priesthood meeting so that the chapel will be ready for the Desert Ridge Ward.
• Sunday September 27th will be Fast Sunday. For YM adult leaders, quorum presidents, and Ryan Eckles, our next AaronicPriesthood Committee meeting will be that day at 8:30 am. We also have BYC at 6:15 and Bishop's Fireside at 7:00 that night.
• General Conference is Saturday October 3rd at 9:00 and 11:00 and Sunday October 4th at 9:00 and 11:00. You can listen to the prophet's voice on BYU TV (Cox channel 114) or the CW network. You can also watch the session live online at lds.org.
• General Priesthood Meeting is Saturday October 3rd at 5:00 pm. You can see the broadcast in our chapel or at the stake center.

There is a Priest/Laurel Conference on September 12th.

One Service Project Down

Service is a wonderful thing. We had a great time "Getting the job done." Even with the assorted cactus spines in the hands and rocks in the shoes. This was where we were ment to be. Top it off with Shakes, Sodas and Fries from In-n-Out and call it a good night.
